(Chapter 1)
Love Jihad at Work Place.
Modern Jihad at Work:
There have been widespread concerns over alleged coordinated efforts by some Muslim men to lure non-Muslim women into relationships or marriages with the intent of conversion to Islam. Obviously the target was primarily Hindu, and Christian women. The overtures of predators often involved deception, allurement, or coercion. These nefarious activities are termed as ‘love jihad’ and concerns have been raised for years in various parts of India.
Christian groups in Kerala played a notable early role in popularizing the concern by coining the term ‘love jihad’ in 2009 and now it is a well known with wide-spread use in the media.
There is a denial of organised conversion on the basis of a convenient illogical argument that there is no proof of “one central command” doing or managing these gangs of love-jihad and conversion. But the logic of this argument stands on its head.
In a country of 1.4 billion people spread across diverse states, languages, and environments, expecting (or demanding) proof of one single centralized headquarters commanding every incident is unrealistic. It only serves as a convenient way to dismiss patterns when they emerge in different arenas. It’s exactly like saying: “We found no single ice cream company controlling all outlets in India, therefore ice cream isn’t popular or widespread.”
Clubbing everything into “no single command = no problem” is a form of denial that ignores ground-level evidence from FIRs, arrests, undercover ops, chargesheets, and victim accounts. Real coercion and exploitation exist alongside genuine consensual interfaith cases
The facts as emerge frequently that various groups emerge from various part of India who are organised as a criminal gangs who take advantage of socially or financially vulnerable people (mostly young women) and seduce them to love or marriage and conversion to Islam. This is modern Jihad. In this form of jihad, the weapons are money and cunning. Ammunition is deception and victim is defenceless due to its social or economic vulnerability. Often both.
Now one such Modern Jihad has been uncovered in a prominent corporation of India engaged in IT business. It was discovered in Nashik, Maharashtra.
Tata Consultancy Servies or TCS
Tata is the most well know brand in India but many do not know the people behind the brand. Tata Group’s Parsi founders, practicing Zoroastrians, flee from Islamic persecution in Persia around the 8th century AD. They chose India, where they were granted refuge, particularly in Gujarat. They did not have to convert. They continue to remain a minuscule minority in the world practicing their ancient faith as Zoroastrians.
Tata Consultancy Services or TCS holds a market capitalization of ₹8.95 lakh crore (₹8,946,083 crore) as of April 14, 2026. Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX, formerly KSE) lists 544 companies with a total market cap of PKR 6.23 trillion (₹6,227 billion or ~₹1.87 lakh crore at ~0.3 INR/PKR).
Thus, the valuation of TCS alone exceeds valuation of entire Pakistani stock market by over 4.8 times. Yet it out shined the Pakistan in Jihad Fi Sabiullah or Jihad in the path of Allah.
Corporate Jihad in TCS
Narratives tell us that love jihad is a theory. We are told that it is another kind of Islamophobia. It is a conspiracy by right wing Hindu nationalists.
In March 2026, a woman filed a complaint at the Deolali police station in Nashik, accusing a senior colleague of rape. Later, eight more employees, including seven women and one man, came forward with allegations of religious harassment. The complaints describe incidents dating from 2022 to early 2026, including inappropriate touching, obscene remarks, physical relationships under false promises of marriage, and forcing a male Hindu employee to perform Namaz.
The Nashik Police did not want the case to be labelled as Islamophobic harassment. Police also suspected that the number of victims could be higher. So they proceeded with caution. The police launched ‘Operation Raid’ to get to the bottom of the case. The police selected 7 of its sharpest women cops, and gradually got them jobs at TCS Nashik. For 42 days, these 7 women cops observed the goings-on in the office. They noticed patterns on how the accused behaved inappropriately with women. They witnessed harassment firsthand, collecting digital evidence, documenting WhatsApp coordination networks, all while the accused had no idea they were being watched and recorded.
The Nashik case investigation will now be a model or template for such cases. It shows how to prosecute this kind of networked workplace predation, and the credit belongs specifically to those seven officers and the commissioner who authorized the operation.
Police has arrested seven employees of TCS on April 12, 2026. This includes six team leaders and a lady HR manager. The six arrested team leaders have been identified as Asif Ansari, Shafi Sheikh, Shah Rukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Tausif Attar, and Danish Sheikh. They were targeting young women employees aged between 18 and 25, deliberately identifying those facing financial difficulties during job interviews. Complaints also included forcing victims to offer namaz, compelling them to eat beef, and pressuring them to convert to Islam. There were allegations of rapes as well.
The male complainant alleged he was repeatedly humiliated for his Hindu beliefs. The accused also forced a male colleague to perform Namaz, disrespecting his religion. Some women victims alleged they were compelled to adopt Islamic practices, including wearing a burqa and observing Ramzan fasts.
The company’s HR manager, Ashwini Chainani, was subsequently taken into custody from Pune after investigators found that she had allegedly ignored email complaints from victims and deliberately increased their workload. Police is also investigating the Human Trafficking angle as the passport of a victim was also taken away by one of the arrested accused.
All these activities were being carried out in the name of Islam, which is highly debatable but there is no debate.
Islamic Theology
Islam does not permit a Muslim woman to marry a non-Muslim man under classical Sharia. A Muslim man however can marry a Kitabi woman, a woman of the book. But Hindu women are not even Kitabi, they are mushrik, polytheist, which makes the marriage technically impermissible unless she converts first. Therefore, love jihad is a theological precondition that the grooming architecture is designed to manufacture.
What about the lies, deception, and seduction? And Worse, the rape and trafficking? Are they also part of religion? No one is speaking out. Those who would cry Islamophobia at a drop of the hat are silent in the face of thorough undercover operation and evidence gathering.
The TCS Nashik case and the UK grooming gangs share a structural pattern. In both cases, the core mechanism is institutional failure layered over predatory behavior. Victims complained. Authorities with power to act, whether HR managers or social workers, chose inaction. This model of Modern Jihad is being carried out it a variety of places. Religious gatherings, Gyms, Medical Colleges and may be will see many new places in future.
In Nashik, a WhatsApp-coordinated network, targeting the vulnerable, using women proxies to identify victims, exploiting positional power, and an HR manager who actively suppressed complaints.
Is this is Islam, speak out and if it is not Islam shout out. Denounce the conduct of accused. But I do not hear anything so far. Do you?
In the next chapter we shall explore Modern Jihad, a little more.
