New World Order: Chapter 11
The world is going to have a new trade route as I have hinted many time in previous articles. It is waiting to be opened with ice melting in Arctic region. India already has an agreement with Russia to map the Arctic route via Vladivostok.
The Arctic route does not just benefit India-Europe trade. Once operational with icebreaker support year-round, it fundamentally redraws the entire Eurasian trade map. Northern Europe gets shortest route to Asia.
But this can not work if Europe continue to have animosity toward Russia. In fact there is no rational basis for this animosity. The Russia has not invaded Europe militarily for a long time. That was a time when Europe itself had sever infighting for supremacy. While Europe has overcome the mutual animosity and united into European Union, it has not been able to do so with Russia. Russia sought NATO membership repeatedly and was denied without stated reason. The reason was animosity. Again it was the same animosity which resulted in Ukraine war.
The reason for this animosity is ‘Racism.’ Yes, with all due respect to European, they need to look into their past, their minds, and their hearts and find it out. This racism, has long history and emotional reasons going back between the association of Russia and Mongols. Let us revisit that history.
Russia’s Invasion by Mongol and Rise of Moscow
The Mongol invasion of Russia took place from 1223 to 1242, when the Mongol Empire swept through the Kievan Rus states across modern Russia, Ukraine, and Belarus.
In 1237, the Mongols under Batu Khan took, ravaged, and burned Ryazan, Kolomna, Moscow, Vladimir, and Tver. The invasion continued until 1242 and was a terrible blow for the Russian lands. It took almost a hundred years to fully recover.
The invasion, facilitated by the already fracturing Kievan Rus, had enormous consequences for Eastern Europe. It divided the East Slavic people into three separate nations and enabled the rise of the Grand Duchy of Moscow.
The Golden Horde and Tribute
The Mongols did not want the trouble of governing Russia directly. They simply wanted to collect tribute, including money and a tenth of each year’s harvest. They needed Russian princes to ensure this collection went smoothly. Therefore the Russian princes were allowed to rule their duchies with the permission of the Khan of the Golden Horde.
Alexander Nevsky and Russian Collaboration
The key figure in this arrangement was Prince Alexander Nevsky. He made the defining choice of his era by resisting the Catholic West and submitting to the Mongol East. His collaboration with the Golden Horde preserved Orthodox civilization while establishing autocratic patterns lasting for centuries.
Alexander was appointed Grand Prince with the understanding that he would rule in the Horde’s interests. When his own brother and other Russian princes conspired against the Mongols, he denounced them to the Khan.
Moscow’s Rise Through Collaboration
The systematic collaboration with Mongol overlords and the ruthless elimination of rivals using Mongol military power, resulted in dramatic rise of Moscow.
The Muscovite prince became the chief intermediary between the Mongol overlords and other Russian princes. While Mongols raided other territories, they tended to respect the lands of their principal collaborator. This attracted nobles who sought relatively secure and peaceful lands. Thus, the emerging autocratic governing tradition diverged from Western liberal development.
The End of Mongol Rule
A series of succession crises fractured the Mongol Empire. This enabled the regrouped Russians, under Ivan the Terrible, to defeat the successor states of the Mongol Empire, such as the Khanate of Kazan, and establish their own empire.
The Mongol period had shaped Russia in a profound way. The very centralized, autocratic state that emerged was, in large part, a product of the collaboration and competition among Russian princes for Mongol favor.
There is a real historical basis for noting Mongol influence on Russian culture and institutions. The collaboration with the Golden Horde established autocratic patterns that persisted for centuries. Some Western Europeans historically used this to argue Russia developed along a different civilizational path from the rest of Europe. But the matter did not rest their. The intermarriage between Mongol and Russians made the Europe uncomfortable. It became a cause of racism.
Racism
The Mongol period left a real mark on Russian political culture. Centralized autocracy, top-down power, suppression of dissent, and collective submission to authority all grew stronger under and after Mongol rule. These traits visibly diverged from Western European political development toward individual rights and rule of law.
When that civilizational discomfort gets expressed as “they are a mixed race,” it is indeed an emotional shortcut. People observe real differences and reach for a biological explanation because it feels cleaner and more permanent than a historical one.
It is easier to say “they are different by blood” than to explain two centuries of Mongol tribute systems reshaping governance culture.
The Genetic Irony
Many Western Europeans, historically and even today, perceive Russia as carrying a fundamentally different political DNA. Not purely racial, but civilizational. The gut feeling that Russia “does not belong” in Europe is rooted in observing these differences across centuries.
The genetic evidence does not support the racial claim. But the cultural and political divergence is real and historically traceable. So the people making the racial argument are accidentally pointing at something true while using completely the wrong explanation for it. The “mixed race” framing is largely a myth
Mongol DNA is almost non-existent among ethnic Russians in their historic heartland. Mongol troops most probably just skirted the forested edge of Rus territories on their way to Europe. Genetic mixing was minimal. The real reasons for exclusion are political and cultural.
The divide is more about religion, geography, and politics than race. Russia’s Eastern Orthodox Christianity separated it from Catholic and later Protestant Europe. Its vast Eurasian geography made it neither fully European nor Asian.
The idea that Russians are “not European” because of racial mixing is a political and often couched as nationalist argument. It has been used historically to demean Russians, and also by Russian nationalists in reverse to claim a unique Eurasian identity. Neither use is grounded in serious anthropology or genetics.
Russians are a Slavic people. Slavs are undeniably European in origin. The differences with Western Europe are civilizational and historical, not racial. But that fact does not change the emotional state of mind. But let me first give an example from India
Hindu Law
In Hindu law the marriage between sibling is illegal for thousand of years. In fact there is a concept of Spinda. Two persons sharing the same Sapinda can not enter into matrimonial union.
Sapinda refers to a concept of blood relations and lineage in Hindu marriage law. Under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955, sapinda relationship defines how close two people are by blood. A person is within sapinda relation if they share a common ancestor within a certain number of generations.
On the father’s side, the limit is five generations upward. On the mother’s side, it is three generations upward. Marriage within this sapinda range is prohibited.
The underlying logic
The sapinda concept comes from ancient Sanskrit. “Sa” means same and “pinda” means body and it also refers to the rice ball offered to ancestors during funeral rites. Those who offer pinda to the same ancestor share sapinda relationship. It is essentially a way of mapping shared ancestry through ritual obligation.
Hindu law encoded genetic thinking thousands of years ago. The prohibition on sapinda marriage is essentially an ancient understanding of what modern genetics calls inbreeding risk. It is a rational, codified system for preventing genetic mixing within close bloodlines.
Racism is essentially a corrupted, emotionally driven inversion of the sapinda principle.
Inbreeding
The sapinda principle is precise and scientific. It targets specific degrees of genetic closeness. Racism is the same instinct applied imprecisely and at a massive scale. Fearing someone from another continent as genetically threatening is biologically absurd. The genetic distance between a Russian and a German is negligible compared to sapinda-level proximity.
The Western History
European royal families practiced extreme inbreeding for centuries. The Habsburgs are the most documented case. The result, was genetic deterioration that is medically well recorded. They simultaneously preached racial purity outward while destroying their own lineages inward.
Ancient Hindu law had already solved this problem rationally and legally thousands of years ago. The West arrived at the same conclusion about incest only recently, and largely through scandal and genetic science rather than structured philosophical reasoning.
However, when it comes to Russia, the same old prejudice gets new wrapper to distrust. Remember, Russia had, time and again sought membership of NATO but it was denied for no apparent reason. The only rational conclusion is that the prejudice is another form of racism.
Modern Developments
America’s post-war rise was built on a deliberate policy of racial neutrality in foreign policy. Not moral neutrality, but racial neutrality. The Marshall Plan went to former enemies. Japan was rebuilt. Germany was rebuilt. The alliance system was built on shared interest not shared ethnicity. America could partner with Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, India, Israel simultaneously because it did not filter allies through racial compatibility.
Europe could not do that. It kept the racial filter running beneath the diplomatic language. Russia failed the filter not because of its politics initially but because of its Mongol-mixed civilisational identity. The politics came later as justification.
America’s willingness to shed that filter, at least in foreign policy, is precisely what made it the dominant power of the 20th century. It could mobilise the entire non-Communist world regardless of race or religion because it offered partnership without the racial prerequisite.
Now America is reintroducing the racial filter under a different name. Greenland, Canada, Panama, the Venezuela kidnapping. The instinct is returning. And simultaneously India is offering what America offered in 1945. India is offering partnership based on mutual interest, no racial prerequisite, Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam as explicit doctrine.
Conclusion
Racism is not a sign of civilizational superiority. It is a sign of civilizational arrested development. Racism is inbreeding anxiety misfired at the wrong scale.
With all the progress scientifically, the Western mind is trapped in old Jurassic era of inbreeding which justify ‘othering’ in the name of race or culture. The scientifically “advanced” West is still running on a corrupted, unexamined version of that same instinct.
The European racism toward Russia can adversely affect IMEC and the Arctic trade routes. The New World Order can not happen without overcoming this instinct.
