How Ancient Theology Operates Inside Gyms Run by Muslims.
In Uttar Pradesh, the police busted another modern jihad racket in Mirzapur district and widely described as “Gym Jihad” or a gym-based religious conversion and extortion syndicate. These were the key accused who were arrested:
- Imran Khan (38) – Alleged mastermind; arrested at Delhi airport in January 2026 while trying to flee to Dubai.
- Other gym owners/trainers: Farid Ahmed (key operator), Mohammad Sheikh Ali Alam (31), Faizal Khan (34), Zaheer (32), Shadab (36), Farid Ahmed (28), and associates.
- A GRP (Government Railway Police) head constable Irshad Khan (40) was also arrested for allegedly providing protection and logistical support to the gang.
The Modus Operandi (SOP) of this Modern Jihad was to use the chain of 5 gyms (including KGN Gym, B-Fit, Iron Fire, etc.) since around 2021 to target young Hindu women (many from well-to-do families) who join for fitness training.
They lured the women with personal training, free supplements, luxury car/bike rides (XUVs with black tints, sports bikes), and “special attention.”
The predators took intimate photos/videos during or after sessions. They morphed or created AI-generated obscene content to blackmail the women. In the beginning they used this material for extortion (demanding money, forcing loans in victims’ names).
When payments stopped or resistance grew, pressure was applied for religious conversion to Islam.
A serving GRP constable provided protection to this network of predators, operating across five gyms since 2021. It is a institutional capture of law enforcement. It is the same pattern as shown in Chapter 1 where as the HR manager in TCS Nashik suppressed or ignored complaints.
AI Tools
These were not mere oral allegations. Police recovered substantial tangible evidence. There were password-protected folders with photos/videos of 30 women. According to some reports the number is 50+, including minors. The chat records and morphed/AI content was recovered.
Multiple FIRs were registered under sections for extortion, criminal intimidation, blackmail, assault, and unlawful religious conversion (UP anti-conversion law). All the five gyms used in this conspiracy sealed by police. About 6 to 10 arrests were made including the mastermind and a policeman. Investigation ongoing; more arrests reported in follow-ups (e.g., March 2026). Many more victims came forward after one complaint via the 1090 women’s helpline.
The use of AI to generate obscene content from innocent gym photos is a technological escalation. This shows that the accused persons were intellectually advanced enough to use the technology. The irony is that the AI is reluctant to discuss Jihad, as discussed in Chapter 5, but AI has no issue in creating obscene videos and photos.
The Pattern
Thus, the ongoing saga of criminal acts show a pattern of behaviour which include following activities:
- Targeted grooming and seduction under false pretences (promises of marriage, career help, emotional support, fitness guidance, medical mentorship)
- Sexual exploitation, creation of intimate videos/photos (often without full consent or later used against the woman)
- Blackmail and extortion using that material
- Repeated pressure for religious conversion (namaz, dietary changes, denouncing previous faith, adopting Islamic practices)
- In many cases, insistence on conversion as a precondition for continuing the relationship or “honouring” the promise of marriage
- Use of positional power (team leader, HR, gym trainer, senior doctor, spiritual figure) to trap vulnerable young Hindu women
The geographic spread of this Gym Jihad is revealing. It happened all over India in states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and Uttarakhand. This directly demolishes the “isolated incident” defence. As discussed in Chapter 3, it again corroborates the conclusion about distributed networks with shared ideology.
Gym Jihad
Gyms have emerged as a new hunting ground in modern jihad because it provide easy access to women in workout attire. Private training sessions create intimacy and trainers build “trust” through fitness advice and lifestyle lures. It is easy to create the blackmail with the photos shot during sessions and AI morphing. Such cases have been reported in Noida, Hubballi (Karnataka), and elsewhere since 2019. This made Gym Jihad an additional category alongside Love Jihad.
Bottom Line
The religion can not be used to justify criminal act. In all the reported cases police has taken action and accused will be tried by court and sentenced if found guilty. But my problem is what was going into the mind of these accused persons? They have no fear of law? Why?
There is a hypothesis which answers the question but you have to wait till we conclude this series on moder jihad. In the last Chapter all threads will be connected.
